National Resources:

Simply Hired – A simple search engine, similar to Google, to search job listings from hundreds of job sites and newspapers at once.

Indeed – Another search engine that searches job listings from several sites at once.

USAJobs – The federal government’s official job list (federal jobs are only posted here).

LinkedIn – This social network is based on professional connections. It can be used to find jobs, people and business opportunities recommended by someone in one’s contact network.

Monster – Search online job listings and post your resume.

CareerBuilder – Search newspaper job listings.

Idealist – Search for jobs in the nonprofit sector.

New York State Resources:

NYS Department of Labor: Find a Job – Resources and links by the New York State Dept. of Labor.

NYS Department of Labor: JobZone

NYS Department of Civil Service – Search and research New York State employment opportunities in state government, as well as local state employment opportunities with counties, cities, towns, villages and local school districts.

New York State Job Exchange – Search for and apply for jobs online, post your resume, and set up automated searches to notify you about jobs that fit your profile. Provided by the NYS Dept. of Labor.
