Libraries Love Lakes

“Lakes” is our middle name! The Finger Lakes Library System is joining the Cayuga Lake Watershed Network (the Network), Community Science Institute (CSI), and Discover Cayuga Lake (DCL) this July to celebrate Libraries Love Lakes Month, a campaign dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of preserving the quality of the Cayuga Lake Watershed.

Libraries Love Lakes offers an opportunity for community members of all ages to explore and learn about the unique ecological significance of Cayuga Lake and its tributaries.

For the week of July 24 – 28, 2023 (and beyond) you can find educational materials, book lists, and more at some of our libraries around the Finger Lakes Library System as we celebrate Watershed Awareness Week.

With Libraries Love Lakes our organizations aim to educate and inspire individuals and communities to take actions that will protect and celebrate Cayuga Lake and its tributaries.
