  • Digital:
    • Curated digital book displays in Libby; selected, purchased, and promoted OverDrive content; ran reports for OverDrive Reciprocal Lending Agreement partners and Finger Lakes Library System members. Promoted Libby Reads, a world book club featuring the title Meet the Neighbors. The title is available simultaneous use which means no holds or waiting for patrons.
    • Facilitated March OverDrive Selectors meeting.
    • Attended OverDrive Reciprocal Lending Agreement Partners meetings.
  • Physical:
    • Assisted with sorting delivery.

Continuing Education

  • Attended South Central Regional Library Council’s The Librarians Film Discussion.
  • Viewed New York State Library’s ICE Operations in Public Libraries webinar.
  • Viewed Director Handbook Book Club session.

Member Libraries

  • Provided consultations on topics including grants, web accessibility, policies, et cetera.
  • Other meetings: Monthly Directors; Finger Lakes Library System Web Accessibility; Finger Lakes Library System Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility meeting.
  • Provided content for Finger Lakes Library System Monthly Bulletin.
  • Shared relevant webinar and programming opportunities via listservs.
  • Opened the 2026 Finger Lakes Library System Family Literacy Grant Cycle application.

  • During the month of March, I edited and imported 5236 bibliographic records.

Interlibrary loan for March 2026:

  • Items circulated: 15977. Year to date: 47058.
  • Total requests submitted: 16061. Year to date: 47345.
  • Percentage filled: 99.5%. Year to date: 99.4%.

Out-of-system interlibrary loan for March 2026:

  • Items borrowed/copied: 513. Year to date: 1674.
  • Items loaned/copied: 195. Year to date: 655.

Meetings:

  • March 11: Web accessibility meeting.
  • March 12: Directors’ meeting.

Training:

  • March 10: Connexion client 5: Automation and customization.
  • March 18: WorldShare Record Manager: Introduction to editing WorldCat bibliographic records.

Jenny Shonk, Education and Outreach Librarian

  • Annual Reports: Annual Reports were not released in March. Reviewed instructions and sent a list of errors to New York State. Finished calculating collection, patron, and circulation stats for member libraries using Polaris reports.
  • Continuing Education: Promoted Mike Bishop’s April workshop and ordered supplies. Helped Heidi prepare for the Summer Reading meeting.
  • Correctional Facilities & County Jails: Worked with Karrie Williamson at Department of Corrections to develop a plan to continue services to correctional facilities.
  • Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, & Accessibility: Attended a website accessibility meeting and increased the accessibility of specific webpages. Created a guide for the NVDA screen reader. Hosted the IDEA Committee meeting with 6 attendees.
  • Outreach: Hosted an Outreach Coordinators’ meeting with 12 attendees. Provided audiobooks to a Talking Book & Braille Library patron. Developed the application, report, and guidelines for Aunt Flow Mini-Grants. Donated period products for Senator Lea Webb’s donation drive. Distributed Know Your Rights cards in various languages to member libraries, provided by the New York Immigration Coalition.
  • Professional Development: Attended various educational webinars about ICE operations in libraries and website accessibility.
  • Reference and Consulting: Answered 39 consulting questions for member libraries with a focus on grants, Polaris, and Annual Reports.
  • Miscellaneous Meetings: Attended and took notes for the Directors’ Meeting. Attended Heidi’s OverDrive Selectors’ Meeting. Discussed improving circulation procedures with TCPL Director, Emerson DeMeester-Lane.
  • Miscellaneous Tasks: Developed a list of circulation contacts at each library. Organized content for the updated monthly bulletin.

Eric Franks, Computer Network Services Specialist

  • March started with 52 open tickets and ended with 51. There were 45 new tickets opened during March while 46 were closed: Wayne 14 and Eric 31, with one closure attributed to the generic Helpdesk account.
  • Seven member libraries ordered supplies including barcodes, receipt paper and two spine label kits for Zebra spine labels.
