The Lakes Sampler is a yearly publication of the Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES area Talented and Gifted(TAG) Committee. The purpose of the sampler is to showcase exemplary literary and artistic work completed throughout the year by students in the Auburn, Cato-Meridian, Jordan-Elbridge, Moravia, Port Byron, Skaneateles, Southern Cayuga, and Weedsport school districts.

Named for the three lakes that dominate this region, the sampler represents not only the efforts of the students whose work it showcases, but also the work of dedicated people who make up the TAG Committee and the Copy Service staff at the Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES. Without their efforts, this creative outlet for student work would not be possible.

The selection of work shown in the Sampler is made at the district and building levels.there is no significance to the placement of the work in the Sampler, other than that an attempt is made to place compatible art and literary works together in a way that fits the page and represents a pleasant flow of theme.
