Health and Wellness Resource Center

ProQuest Platinum

12/17/09 MasterFile Premier to be Discontinued on December 31, 2009

Our subscription to MasterFile Premier will be ending at the end of 2009 due to budgetary considerations. I apologize for the late notice but we were hoping for a reduction in the price.

Although I realize that there are a number of people who do use this database, most of the research needs met by MasterFile Premier should be met by ProQuest Platinum which we now receive through the NOVELny program. You can download a brochure (in Publisher or PDF format) which describes the features of ProQuest Platinum from the Reference Services webpage http://www.flls.org/reference/. Please contact me if you would like multiple copies of the brochure for distribution to your patrons or if you would like assistance using ProQuest Platinum.

11-8-2007 Rosetta Stone to be Discontinued 1/31/2008

The Rosetta Stone immersion language learning program will not be available after January 31, 2008. This decision was made by Rosetta Stone, not the Finger Lakes Library System. Rosetta Stone Ltd. will no longer offer public libraries remote access for patrons. We regret the loss of this very popular learning tool and the inconvenience this will cause our patrons. FLLS is currently investigating online learning alternatives and hopes to be able to offer another online language learning tool early next year.
