Library Tributes to History
Project Description
How to Nominate
How to Sponsor
The Library Tributes to History are being used to raise funds for our capital campaign “A Place for New Possibilities.” A sponsor may select from a list of available already researched tributes, or nominate someone new. The Library and the History Gang will research the individual, and if the criteria are met, a tribute can be created.
Be Creative !
-
If you are a nature lover, you might want to sponsor John E. Seeley’s tribute (voted for Yellowstone) with the dedication “Given by the Smith Family, to honor those with foresight to protect our environment for the future.
-
If your Mom was an avid history buff, you might want to sponsor Mary Stone Kinne (underground railroad) with the dedication “In memory of my mother, Mary Jones, a true historian.”
-
If your parents and grandparents lived in the area, the Library would be happy to see if they fit into the history of our proud communities.
A minimum sponsorship is $1,500, which can be from a business, an individual, or a group of individuals. Pledges may be made over three years, but the Library requests a minimum of $500 be paid before production begins.
