About the Finger Lakes Library System

Here's one definition of the term system: "a regularly interacting or interdependent group of items forming a unified whole." That’s exactly how the Finger Lakes Library System (FLLS) works.

The Edith B. Ford Memorial Library is one of the 32 public libraries in the Finger Lakes Library System (FLLS) throughout the counties of Cayuga, Tioga, Cortland, Tompkins, and Seneca. The FLLS allows these mostly rural libraries to share resources and better support our patrons and members. The FLLS also serves 4 reading centers, 3 correctional facilities, and 21 agencies, and has an association with the Durland Alternatives Library at Anabel Taylor Hall on the Cornell campus.

Though the FLLS interlibrary loan department, you may borrow a book from anywhere in the United States and beyond.

The FLLS delivery service covers 2,513 square miles, making stops at each member library at least once a week, twice a week at Ovid. This adds up to 1,925 delivery miles per week. Now that’s regularly interacting.
