National Resources:

Simply Hired – A simple search engine, similar to Google, to search job listings from hundreds of job sites and newspapers at once.

Indeed – Another search engine that searches job listings from several sites at once.

USAJobs – The federal government’s official job list (federal jobs are only posted here).

LinkedIn – This social network is based on professional connections. It can be used to find jobs, people and business opportunities recommended by someone in one’s contact network.

Craigslist – Online-only job postings in your area.

Monster – Search online job listings and post your resume.

CareerBuilder – Search newspaper job listings.

Idealist – Search for jobs in the nonprofit sector.

NY State Resources:

NYS Dept. of Labor: Find a Job – Resources and links by the New York State Dept. of Labor.

NYS Dept. of Civil Service – Search and research New York State employment opportunities in state government, as well as local state employment opportunities with counties, cities, towns, villages and local school districts.
