placing out-of-system ILL requests right on the Polaris PAC are

requests for Out-of-System books that can be found on
WorldCat by June 30.

Definition of ILL Request Manager Status
categories:
Inactive – the out-of-system
ILL has been placed by the patron or staff member but has not
been exported to OCLC
Active – the out-of-system ILL
has been exported to OCLC and remains active until the request
has been filled.
Received – the out-of-system
ILL has arrived at FLLS and remains received as long as the item
is at FLLS, the member library, checked out to the patron or in
delivery back to FLLS.
Returned – the out-of-system
ILL is back at FLLS and we have prepared it to be shipped back
to the lending library; it remains as Returned until FLLS staff
deletes it.
Cancelled – either the patron
(staff) cancelled it from the patron’s account because the item
was no longer needed or an FLLS staff has removed the item
because it does not meet ILL criteria or because we were unable
to get it. It remains as Cancelled until FLLS staff deletes it.

LAST WEEK’S QUESTION OF THE WEEK: What is
paraskavedekatriaphobia?
Malia. FLLS
submitted the correct answer.
www.reference.com credits Wikipedia for this definition: the
fear of Friday the 13th is called paraskavedekatriaphobia,
a word derived from the concatenation of the Greek words
Paraskeví (Παρασκευή) (meaning Friday), and
dekatreís (δεκατρείς) (meaning thirteen), attached to
phobía (φοβία) (meaning phobia). The term is a
specialized form of
triskaidekaphobia
a simple
phobia
(fear) of
the number thirteen appearing in any case.
