Attention New Trustees!

FLLS provides a new trustee orientation for any or all new trustees that come on to a board.  If you’re interested in coming to FLLS Headquarters for an introduction to the system and the services we provide – about an hour of your time – please contact Marisa Iacobucci (marisa@flls.org; ext. 26) to schedule a time.  We all look forward to meeting you!

Cortland Free Library ran a successful School Budget campaign, Congratulations!

Kay Zaharis reported there were 500 yes and 232 no votes. Hundreds filed through their library…it was thrilling!!!

ILL: Out-of-System Requests on WorldCat

Links to Information and Instructions for placing out-of-system ILL requests right on the Polaris PAC are available at http://www.flls.org/ill/. Our goal is to eliminate paper requests by June 30 for Out-of-System books that can be found on WorldCat. If we are unable to place the request we will email the reason the request can not be filled to the patron directly with a copy to the library if the patron’s email is in the patron record. Otherwise we will send a paper explanation in the delivery and you will have to communicate with the patron.

ILL – ILL Lending Policies

Thanks to all who have already reviewed and returned the ILL Lending Policies spreadsheet. Please return your library’s policies by June 27.

ILL – FAQs

I have also posted ILL FAQs http://www.flls.org/ill/FAQs.htm on the FLLS ILL web page. Let me know if you have an ILL question that is not answered in the FAQs.

DELIVERY

Beginning the week of June 9, we are making a second delivery stop at ALTER and an additional stop at CIN. Both of these libraries currently loan more within-system ILLs than they borrow. This will mean that their material will get to the member libraries more quickly. Deliveries to ALTER will now be on Monday and Thursday; deliveries to CIN will be Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday.
