The Village of Derry Church, PA which is where Milton S. Hershey was born. Who controls the largest percentage of the Hershey Foods Corporation’s voting stock? The Milton Hershey School Trust controls 77% of Hershey’s voting power. Hershey established the Hershey Industrial School for orphans in 1909. In 1918, after his wife’s death and having no heirs, he gave $60 million worth of stock to the school. The school became the Milton Hershey School in 1951.
