Grant Opportunities 

Myhometownhelper.com Grants 

General Mills Sales, Inc, and Hamburger Helper are offering grants of up to $15,000 each month from September 1, 2006 through May 31, 2007. All requests for funding must be sponsored by a municipal or civic organization such as a public library or school.   

When evaluating requests, the review committee will favor organizations that meet the following criteria: 

  • Demonstrate a need in a community;

  • Illustrate a helpful, creative or innovative concept that meets this need;

  • Clearly identify changes that can be made as a result of receiving the award.

The online application consists of a 250 word description of the grant project. Applicants can request a one time award for a minimum of $500 and a maximum of $15,000 during any single month.  One example grant project on their website is for computers for a library or school.

 Target Store Grants 

Applications for Target Store Grants are available either at your local Target store or online.   

The grants, of up to $3,000, focus on arts, family violence prevention and reading.  Reading grants are awarded to schools, libraries and nonprofit organizations supporting programs such as weekend book clubs, after-school reading programs and events encouraging family reading time.  Applications will be accepted March 1 – May 31, 2007.

  

Curious as to whether you have enough staff to cover certain days or time periods during the day? Are you thinking about expanding your hours and want to know what your busiest day is or when your busiest time of the day is? 

Use the custom report AA-Circ Counts by the Hour.

This report is located in the Polaris folder, Custom Folder and then in the Circulation folder using Report Manager on the Web

  • Select your library from the drop down menu

  • Enter in the Start Date and the Start Time using the format example displayed i.e. 12/18/2006 1:30 PM

  • Enter in the End Date and the End Time using the format example displayed i.e. 12/18/2006 08:00 PM

  • Left Click on View Report

 The report displays hour by hour the number of circulations transactions including renewals.
