Book Group Kits

We have put together three Book Group Kits.   There is a kit for ‘Prodigal Summer’, ‘Samurai’s Garden’ and ‘Shipping News’.  Each kit contains multiple copies of the book and a small binder of information such as a book summary, biographical information about the author, discussion questions and a book group primer.

These kits will be available soon – by next week we’re hoping – and can be requested.  Search by title under ‘Book Group Kit’ and the three titles will come up.

Please contact me with any questions you may have.

Disaster Planning & Collection Salvage

For those of you who could not attend the system meeting: I will be sending the handouts in delivery.  Thanks!

Special interlibrary loan services temporarily unavailable

Due to upcoming staffing changes in the FLLS Interlibrary Loan department, FLLS will not be able to fill any “special requests” for materials from outside the FLLS region for a short period of time.

Interlibrary loan requests referred out-of-system will be limited to verified, adult non-fiction books only.

Examples of types of requests that are considered “special requests” include, but are not limited to:

§            microfilm, music scores, maps, ERIC documents, unverified periodical requests, conference proceedings, foreign language materials, government documents, patents, legal documents and genealogical materials.”

·     ROBERT McLAUGHLIN, Cataloging Services

The following book with no property stamp arrived without a library key on the process slip:

“Forever” by Pete Hamill  (Back Bay, 2003)

Please contact me if this title is recognized.
