If you have a question about procedure, please call the Computer Services Dept.

If you have a problem you’re noticing in Polaris, please e-mail the problem to rhelwig@flls.org. (This way it can be easily forwarded to Polaris)

or

Register on our new Web Forum at http://flls.proboards42.com/ .  This is currently dedicated to Polaris and it is divided up into Circulation, Patron Services, Reports and Cataloging.  Go to the above address, register, and post your question.  We will answer your question so everyone can see the answer.  If you know a better answer or shortcut, you can post that so everyone can benefit.

Due to staffing shortages in the FLLS Interlibrary Loan Department, we will be unable to process any new interlibrary loan requests for out-of-system materials between the dates of July 18 – July 31. Any requests which are already in the works by July 15 will be filled, but no new requests (for items not owned within the system) will be processed until after August 1st. We regret any inconvenience that this may create for patrons at your library during this time.

Polaris and In-Transit items

You are probably already aware, that when items are checked in on Polaris and are put “In-Transit” to other libraries, the receipt printout does not print the destination library at the top of the slip. Instead, it is about three lines down.

Please circle this library code and write it in on the top of the slip as well.

This will facilitate routing the item to the correct library more easily in the delivery.

A change in the receipt printout has been requested to be included in a future release of the Polaris software, but is not something they are able to change right away.

Please make the following changes to the 2005 System Directory:

BERKSHIRE:

1) James O'Krepki has resigned. Filling out the rest of his term is Ms.Karen McNally, 21 Turkey Hill Rd. Berkshire NY 13736 - phone 607-657-8558.

2) Phone number for Kathy Hartman is no longer in service.

Thank you.

Deposit Collections – we are working out the new system for sending deposit collections and consequently we may not be able send your collections to you on the assigned day.  If this happens, we will contact your library as soon as we know.

We appreciate your patience during this (wonderful!) time of transition.
