LIBRARIES MATTER
Libraries Matter is the theme of a new fund-raising campaign spearheaded by our regional Alliance Library System. Beginning on April 10, the first day of National Library Week, Alpha Park Library will offer Libraries Matter bracelets for sale at $3 each. Half of the profit from each sale will stay with APL, and the other half will reimburse the Alliance System, our promoter and supplier. We hope to use the proceeds to help spruce up the Youth Services Department. (Notice some of the walls, the nicks and chips in the paint, the broken coat hooks ... ) If you go to www.librariesmatter.com and click on the Causes link, you can see all the libraries that are using Libraries Matter bracelets to raise money AND awareness of library needs. The list grows daily - and not all the libraries are from Illinois. Our regional system is leading the way in promoting and supporting libraries of all sizes and types!
