Trustee Workshop Registration Deadline
The original deadline to register for the Trustee Workshop: Fund Raising for Libraries in the 21st Century, was July 18th (which was as you may have guessed an error – deadlines on a Sunday are not the norm!). We are going to extend the deadline to Monday, August 30th to give everyone plenty of time to register.
Library Directors: Please encourage your Board to send at least on trustee to this workshop. Plus it would be worthwhile for you to also attend or to send an Assistant or other enthusiastic staff member.
Trustees: Please attend! A well-funded library is a library that is much easier to run. Ensuring that your library is funded and continues to be funded is a basic trustee responsibility. Every board should send at least one trustee to attend.
If you have any questions about the workshop, please don’t hesitate to contact me: marisa@flls.org, 273-4074, ext. 26.

We also have many documentary DVDs available, but rather than listing them here, I will be sending out a bibliography of them with short descriptions of each film for you to have available at your circ desk for your patrons. The list should be arriving sometime next week. The Man Who Walked Between the Towers
I recently received an e-mail from a very attentive librarian asking about the book “The Man Who Walked Between the Towers”. It turns out there has been an unopened box in Diana’s space since just after she went on vacation which I have been dutifully ignoring. Until I received this e-mail and low and behold, the box contains the books! My apologies for not opening it sooner.
Cassie will be sending the books out to those who wanted them as soon as possible. You will be receiving them sometime next week.
