A reminder to all: please write letters to your elected legislative officials and give them specific examples why your library is important to you and/or your family. You may also mention the role the Central Library plays in this process, too.

May System Meeting!
“Working with Teens & Making it Work,” on Thursday, May 27th.
We are bringing Linda w. Braun, another national speaker on library services to young adults, thanks to funding from the Friends of the Tompkins County Library. This will be a hands-on workshop, dedicated to creating great library services for teens in your library.
“We want to provide good YA services, but the teens just don’t come in.” – This workshop is for you!
“All they want to do is use the computers.” – This workshop is for you!
“We have some good stuff going on with teens at the library. If we connected more with the schools, it would be better.” – This workshop is for you!
In short, this workshop is for you!
Like the Patrick Jones (2002) and Walter Minkel (2003) workshops were, this meeting is open to all librarians in Tompkins, Cortland, Cayuga, Seneca, and Tioga Counties. School librarians from the area have been invited! It’s a great opportunity to network with your school counterparts.
HOPE TO SEE YOU THURSDAY, MAY 27th!
Please RSVP by Thursday, May 20th using the attached form, or by e-mailing me (dianam@flls.org)

Permanent Loan Family Videos
The permanent loan videos for comedy will be going out to their new homes soon. With that list just about completed, we are on to the list of Family films.
The online order form worked very well. Please make sure you submit online; do not print off the form and send it in delivery. It is much easier for us to track choices when we receive them all online. So, like the list of Comedy videos, this coming Monday (5/17), I will be e-mailing participating libraries the address needed to go on line and fill out the request form for the Family list. If you have not submitted a signed Permanent Loan Agreement, you will need to do so just before, or shortly after, selecting films.
So...check your e-mail on Monday! (Please remember, libraries that do not interlibrary loan videos are not eligible to participate.) Thanks!
A Query
A while back, I received our BOT copy of Comanche Moon by Larry McMurtry back with a damaged tape. That edition was from a company that does not replace tapes. I've since reordered another copy from Recorded Books.Does anyone out there remember one of their patrons borrowing a BOT of Comanche Moon and being unable to finish it??? It's a long shot, but I thought I'd ask. Thanks!
