MEMBER LIBRARY WEEKLY BULLETIN

No. 03-35                                                                                                                                                   August 29, 2003

REMINDER:  Please send me your blurb, via email, fax or delivery for the 45th annual meeting brochure…ASAP.  Deadline has been extended to Friday, September 5th. If I do not receive a report from your library, I’ll indicate “no report available” under your library’s name. This is a popular section in our brochure and I would like to have something from each library. Any questions, please call me at ext. 21.

The Annual Meeting invitations have been sent out. A few invitations have been returned to us due to insufficient address. I will put all returned invitations in delivery. Also, please let me know the correct address of the returns.  If your library needs additional invitations, please contact me. Thanks.

The Dynix Advanced User training is being offered again.  Some of the topics that will be covered are Dot and Unlisted commands, Functions Keys (how to set them up and what to use them for), Copy and Paste from Dynix into Word and FAQ's (frequently asked questions).  This training session is for those that have been on Dynix for awhile or have attended the Dynix New User training.  The training will be in the FLLS conference room on Monday Sept. 8th from 10AM to 12PM and is limited to 10 attendees.  Parking is available in the library lot.

This is a reminder that if your library has a dedicated iPac catalog computer and you haven't inserted the new registration number for the Public Web Browser interface, please call us so we can assist you.  You can tell if the re-registration needs to done by looking at the blue bar at the top of the iPac screen.  If it says <Unregistered>, it needs to be done as soon as possible.

Trustee Workshop registration deadline is September 1st. If your trustees need a registration form or more information, please call or email me ASAP. Thank you.

Young Audiences of Rochester Showcase of Artists

Young Audiences of Rochester will be showcasing artists for youth on Friday, September 19 from 2:30-6:30 in Rochester. This can be a great opportunity to preview performers for summer reading and other programs at your library. 7-8 artists will perform simultaneously at 20-minute intervals throughout the day, so it would be great to have a group there to cover as wide a variety of artists as possible.  If you are interested in attending, please let me know. If there are enough people interested, we may take a van load from Finger Lakes. If you’d like to go, please let me know by Friday, Sept. 5.

Graphic Novels – What are they anyway?

For more information or to register online, please visit www.pls-net.org. Go to Calendar of Events.

Kathy will be on vacation from September 4th - 19th.
