MARISA IACOBUCCI, Adult Services Coordinator
Just a reminder: Please, whenever possible, make sure your FLLS deposit collection videos are rewound. Malia has been rewinding an average of 84 videos a month! (252 videos from April 2nd to June 28th) This takes time away from her other duties including processing all those wonderful new videos that everyone likes to see.
When I was at the Hamilton Public Library, we had a similar problem with patrons returning un-rewound films. We tried charging them a 50 cent per video fee for a while, but we didnt have much luck. We ended up purchasing a rewinder from Ames for $14.95, which, as far as I know, is still going strong. We placed it at the front desk and whenever a film was returned that needed rewinding, we popped it in.
So, all I ask is that you try as best you can to encourage your patrons to return their films rewound. I would also recommend the purchase of an inexpensive rewinder. It would help for your own films as well as ours.
Thanks!

Dynix holdings maintenance:
PLEASE REMEMBER to include your library key on all vendor cards or Dynix forms sent in to FLLS.
PLEASE DO NOT USE the Dynix collection code MEDIA (MEDIA MATERIALS) for multimedia materials. Please use MULTI (FLLS MULTIMEDIA). MEDIA is used for projectors and related equipment.
If you use the collection prefix MM (MULTIMEDIA), FLLS cataloging standards require that you be sure to follow MM with an appropriate prefix and/or call number.
For example: MM-J Smith MM-E Jones MM-E 782.42 Best If you choose to classify with only MM and an authors name, and no other prefix or call number, please be consistent in your formatting of such information. PLEASE remember that incorrect or inconsistent entry of prefixes and/or call numbers results in erroneous statistics when reports are generated. When we compile reports for any of the many the member libraries on Dynix, we are NOT able to make corrections to improperly or inconsistently formatted prefixes or call numbers before the report is generated.
If you have any questions, please call me.
JULIE WIDGER, Lamont Memorial Library, McGraw
The Lamont Library will be closed the first two weeks in August for painting, papering & carpet. We must box up over half our collection to store off-site. If any library has extra book boxes please send them in your delivery to be forwarded on to McGraw. Thanks!
Also - our local Dollar Store donated a case of Soak 'n Grow Spongies (SpongeBob & Squarepants) - much more than we can use. If any library in the system would like some let me know.
