 | For those of you who missed last week's internet reference workshop
entitled: "Is Your Webbrain Working?", there are handouts and sample
exercises available at our FLLS homepage. Under 'Resources', there is a link
called 'Webbrain demo' that takes you to the webpage created by TCPL
reference staff as a training tool for this workshop. You can also access
this by going directly to this URL: http://www.tcpl.org/Webbrain/ At the end
of each section, there is a link called 'Workshop Handout' that takes you to
a Microsoft Word version of the handouts and exercises, (complete with the
links used to demonstrate specific sites) that you can print off and use for
training other staff and volunteers. Hats off to TCPL staff members
Galadriel Chilton, Jennifer Schlossberg, and Rosie Rice for a well-paced and
informative presentation. If you only have time to look at two sites, be
sure to take a look at http://www.malepregnancy.com/ (used as a demo to
evaluate websites) and http://historywired.si.edu/index.html the
Smithsonian's virtual tour of objects from the National Museum of American
History. |
