ROBERT McLAUGHLIN, Cataloging Services Coordinator

For those libraries that have small collections of software, data files, and interactive multimedia available for circulation: the General Material Designation (GMD) which follows the title statement has been changed from [interactive multimedia] to [electronic resource]. For example, the title “The amazing writing machine [interactive multimedia]” is now displayed on Dynix as “The amazing writing machine [electronic resource].” However, the FLLS Dynix Collection codes “FLLS INTERACTIVE MEDIA” (INTER) and “FLLS JUVENILE INTERACTIVE MEDIA” (JINTER) and Item Type “FLLS INTERACTIVE MEDIA” (INTER) for these types of materials has not been changed. In addition, the subject subheadings “Interactive multimedia” and “Juvenile interactive multimedia” will remain the same.

If there are any questions, please contact me.

An updated and expanded version of David Pelzer’s “A child called ‘it’” has been acquired by some member libraries, but unfortunately the holdings have been mistakenly attached to the original edition instead of a new bib record. This new edition (ISBN: 079400614 – Call number: B PELZER or 362.7 Pelzer) now includes the sequel entitled “The lost boy”, and the new holdings should be attached to a different record. If you have recently acquired this new edition, please let me know, and I will straighten out the problem by moving your holdings to the correct bib record.

Summer Reading Update
The Summer Reading System Meeting is next Thursday, March 28! If you have not already done so, please RSVP today!

PRIZES! CRAFTS! PRIZES! CRAFTS! PRIZES! CRAFTS! PRIZES! CRAFTS! PRIZES!

Are there reams of construction paper lurking in a back room of your library? Is there a pile of egg cartons that would be just perfect for…something? Do you have to step over a wall of bookmarks saved for a special occasion?

Here is your chance to clean out and stock up! Bring your extra prizes and craft supplies to the Summer Reading System Meeting!

If you plan to bring your left over prizes or craft supplies on Thursday, please let me know so I can make sure to have enough tables set up for the swap. You may also send your offerings through the delivery!

Hope to see you there!

CAROL HENDRIX, Executive Administrative Assistant
