Dynix circulation users:
PLEASE do not add your holdings for new materials to another library’s fast
adds. Create your own unique fast adds or send the materials in to me and I
will add your holdings for you. By adding your holdings to another library’s
fast adds, your holdings may never get transferred to permanent records.
Thanks for your attention to this very important procedure.
The most recent FALCON (Dynix users) minutes have been sent out to you, but
I need to clarify the statement concerning periodical fast adds. The minutes
state that on February 1, 2002, periodical fast adds (NOTE: only periodical
fast adds) will be set up in Dynix circulation to delete upon check in.
However, what was not included in the minutes was that if you still have any
existing periodical fast adds that have not been transferred to permanent
bib records, they will be deleted from the Dynix on February 1 (any
periodical holdings on permanent bib records will not be included).
Printouts of periodical fast adds were sent out to all Dynix libraries
almost a year ago, and most libraries have already transferred their
periodical holdings on fast adds to permanent bib records. However, there
are still a few libraries that have not completed this project. For these
libraries, if you wish to have another printout of your current periodical
fast adds so you can start or complete this project, contact Jan Aguirre or
me.
If there are any questions, please contact me.

with this procedure, call Rex, Eric or Jan for help! Thanks.

A belated Happy Thanksgiving to all!!
Here are a couple of video procedures that would help Malia out a lot:
When you are getting ready to send a video collection back to FLLS, please
take the time to check the items being sent back off of the packing list.
If there are videos missing from the collection…
note which videos are missing on the packing list,
make a copy of the list and send it to Malia in the box with the returning
collection. Malia will then know that you are aware of the missing tape (and
hopefully will be able to find it) and will not send you an overdue notice.
When requesting a video that is in two parts, please place a hold on EACH
PART with an ITEM SPECIFIC REQUEST. This way you will get exactly what your
patron wants. Malia has been getting requests for part one of a two video
set, and is unsure if you want just Part one or Part two as well. This
would help to clarify things. Thanks!
