We are currently negotiating with Electric Library for renewal.

disappeared from the Finger Lakes Library System web site. We are currently
negotiating with EBSCO for renewal and expect to have the link restored
soon.
NYLA SCHOLARSHIPS
Scholarships for the New York Library Associations annual conference are
still available. Consult the Continuing Education memo recently distributed
to member libraries for details.

ROBERT McLAUGHLIN, Cataloging Services

I sent a survey about collection codes that are used on spine labels as well
as the corresponding Dynix/Le Pac union catalog holdings. This survey was
sent out to both Dynix and non-Dynix (Brodart P-1 users and those libraries
still circulating manually) libraries, but I have only received a small
number of them back. If you are on the following list, please take the time
to fill out the survey. If you do not have a copy of the survey, call me
(extension 34) so I can send you one.
Aurora, Fair Haven, Powers (Moravia), Hazard (Poplar Ridge),
Weedsport, Kellogg (Cincinnatus), Phillips (Homer), Lamont (McGraw),
Peck (Marathon), Interlaken, Lodi, Ford (Ovid), Mynderse (Seneca Falls),
Berkshire, Candor, Tappan-Spaulding (Newark Valley), Coburn (Owego),
Spencer, Waverly, Ulysses Philomathic (Trumansburg)
   DYNIX LIBRARY USERS Note:
It is very important that when you get back processed vendor cards or forms
from FLLS that you review the holdings data for accuracy (collection code,
call number, item type, agency, etc.). This procedure should be followed
whether or not you created fast adds or you decided to wait until FLLS
created the holdings for you. It is not the responsibility of FLLS to make
corrections to the holdings data that you entered when you created you fast
adds. In addition, it is not our responsibility to enter your local and
specific item type data into the holdings when we create holdings for your -
we enter only the default FLLS collection codes, relevant call numbers, item
types and your agency codes.
Thank you in advance for your prompt attention to this matter. If there are
any questions, please contact me.

ANNE MLOD, Seymour Library

I will be leaving the Seymour Library this week to take a position with the
Auburn School District as the librarian overseeing the five elementary
schools in Auburn. I am very excited about this position, which allows me to
take an active role in the rebuilding of the school library program in
Auburn. I will “moonlight” at the Seymour Library one or two afternoons a
week.
TO ANNE MLOD: From Everyone At FLLS:
Congratulations to Anne - we wish her the best of luck - but we will miss
her talent, abilities, and leadership.

MARISA IACOBUCCI, Adult Services Coordinator

Just a reminder: If you are a Dynix library, and you order a Bi-Fokal
kit, please remember to check out the kit on Dynix to the borrowing patron
before it leaves your library. Malia and I realized that we had never
actually told anyone this before. Technically speaking this is a new procedure,
so my apologies for not saying something sooner!
