ROBERT MC LAUGHLIN, Cataloging Services Coordinator

(our new “retro” department name that gives a better idea of what we do than our previous name, Bibliographic Database Services)
A week or so ago, I sent out an updated DYNIX ADD / DELETE / CHANGE REQUEST FORM master to each member library. Please use this new form and discard the old form. In addition, when submitting a request to add a new title to the union catalog, please be sure to include the call number you assigned to the item on the form. If you need a call number please refer to the instructions in the technical services section of the Finger Lakes Library System Services, Policies and Procedures manual.

If there are any questions, please contact me at ext. 34.

MARISA IACOBUCCI, Adult Services Coordinator

I have a couple of things to tell you, but I promise not to go on and on like last week!
Hopefully by now you have received the flyer for the Book Group system meeting. I thought it would be helpful to give you a little background on our presenters. Ann Harris is the Outreach Consultant at the Mid-York Library System and is the self- proclaimed “book group guru” for the System.  She is very enthusiastic about book discussion groups and has some great ideas. Karen Traynor is the Director the Sullivan Free Library which serves both Chittenango & Bridgeport, NY. Karen runs several groups at her library and shares Ann’s creative ideas in how to run a successful discussion. Both Ann & Karen also belong to several on-line groups, and both have a wonderful sense of humor. I hope you all can come to both learn and have some fun.
Slowly Barb is sending out video deposit collections to you. Either Barb or I will notify you a day or so in advance of when you will be receiving the collection. We are including some simple guidelines to follow, which are important to read. Don’t hesitate to call with questions.

Thanks and have a great weekend!

JAN AGUIRRE, Computer Network Services

Just a reminder to all Dynix libraries that the next FALCON Meeting is Thursday May 17th from 10 am - 12 pm in the Borg Warner Room at Tompkins County Public Library.
