Finger Lakes Library System was notified by Seymour Public Library District Library Director, Stephen Erskine, of the January 25, 2001, passing of Elaine H. Kerskie Brown Mrs. Brown was the library director of the Groton Public Library when they joined the newly-formed Finger Lakes Library System. She served at the Groton Public Library for twenty-five years.

REX HELWIG, Computer Network Services In our continuing effort to provide you with the highest quality support we have made some changes to our phone system. We recognize that many times you just want to talk to someone in support. For this reason, we have added a new phone extension that will ring on all of the Computer Network Services phones. Please use extension 37, if Jan, Rob or Rex are available your call will be answered, otherwise please leave a message and one of us will call you back.  We have changed the department name to more clearly describe our function.  In the past we would receive several calls a week for “information”. This change should eliminate that problem!

KATHY PARKHURST, ILL/Reference Reminder…Finger Lakes Library System will be closed on Monday, February 19th for President’s Day.

MELANIE HEMINGWAY, Outreach Consultant Reminder…February 22nd System Meeting:  “The Power of Partnerships: Working With Your Community & Seeking Grant-Funding” Guest Speaker, Anne Simon, Family Literacy Grants Program Officer from DLD will explain how to apply grant-writing to your library’s needs.  Want to do lunch with Anne too?
