  1. Reminder…Annual Reports are due on February 14th. If you have any questions or concerns with your on-line report, please call Marisa (ext.26), Frank (ext. 24) or Carol (ext. 21).
  2. Library Lobby Day - March 20, 200l - Albany, NY.  Why should I travel to Albany to talk with my legislators about library issues?
Libraries need you to speak out for them.
Libraries need more state money.
Legislators need to learn what libraries do for citizens of New York State.
Who will gain?
All New York libraries and citizens
All libraries and systems which receive direct state aid.
Many libraries and systems which receive indirect state aid in the form of cooperative services and shared programs from their library system.
Legislators who need to understand how libraries can help them.
How do I do this?
Call your legislator’s office, either at home or in Albany.
Make an appointment for Lobby Day - March 20th.
Keep the appointment.
Tell him/her how important your library is to the community - and its voting citizens.
Tell him/her that increased funding for libraries is ESSENTIAL and CRITICAL.
We have a great opportunity to speak out for additional funding for electronic resources, construction, and aid for all libraries. It’s not hard, and we all need to do our part in strengthening New York’s libraries, systems, and special collections.
Meet your colleagues from across the state at the NYLA Briefing Room, Meeting Room 6, Empire State Plaza Convention Center, Concourse Level. Be part of the solution to some of our library problems such as insufficient state aid.  We hope to see you there! Watch NYLINE and the NYLA web site - www.nyla.org for further Lobby Day details and information.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
Today's Friday Bulletin included information about NYLA Lobby Day 2001, taken directly from the just released NYLA newsletter.  Our Bulletin should also have included the fact that FLLS will, as usual, make appointments with all our legislators for representatives from our region. Watch for an additional memo from FLLS containing information about Lobby Day.
