I was recently reading the newsletter from the Mid-York Library System, and notice an entry from the Morrisville Public Library in Morrisville, NY, that I thought may be of interest.

The Library received a grant from The Libri Foundation. The Libri Foundation is a nationwide non-profit organization which donates new, quality, hardcover children's books to small, rural public libraries in the United States through its BOOKS FOR CHILDREN program. The Morrisville Library received 66 new juvenile fiction and non-fiction books which were paid for by the Friends of the Morrisville Library and a grant from the Libri Foundation, which doubled the donation from the Friends for a total retail value of over $1,000.  The Foundation’s web site is: <http://www.teleport.com/~librifdn/>. I checked out the site …it looks good! I encourage everyone to take a look-there could be free children’s books available for you! Libraries are qualified on an individual basis. In general, a library should serve a population under 10,000 (usually under 5,000),have a very limited budget, be in a rural area, and have an active children's department. I know many of you out there qualify. Good luck!

MICHELLE PARRY, Library Director, Fair Haven Public Library

I have a number of Literacy materials (books, quasi-instructional materials), and several English as second language materials. All were published in the mid-1980's. If anyone is interested in them they are free.  You have one week, January 13th is the cut-off date, to let me know if you would like them.

If you would like circulation sheets, please phone or email me and I’ll send them to you in delivery. Thanks!
