Congratulations to the following Award Winners, presented at our Annual Meeting on October 11:
Youth Services Award – renamed in honor of this years’ recipient – Joan Cooke Youth Services Award.
Trustees of the Year Award – given to the entire board of trustees of the Philomathic Library, Trumansburg.
Library Director of the Year award – given to Susan Rosenkoetter, past director of the Southworth Library Association, Dryden.
Ruth Polson Public Service Award – given to Barbara Mink, Chair, Tompkins County Board of Representatives.
Congratulations also to Valerie Kelly, new Finger Lakes Library System Trustee representing Tioga County.

COMPANY FINANCIAL DEVELOPMENT AWARD
Gale announces the presentation of an annual award consisting of $2,500
and a 24k
gold-framed citation presented to a library organization that exhibited
meritorious achievement in carrying out a library financial development project
to secure new funding resources for a public or academic library.
Application deadline: December 1, 2000.
The intent of the award is to recognize an innovative, creative,
well-organized project, which successfully developed income from alternative
sources. The alternative sources may include, but are not limited to: individual
gifts, foundations, endowments, "challenge" grants, and related
efforts. While the library development project may have been a continuing one,
the nomination should represent a significantly new effort, which involved a
more broad-based constituency and utilized additional fund-raising techniques.
