KAREN CREENAN, Executive Director
GAIL PARK was appointed Director of the Southworth Library in Dryden after the retirement of Susan Rosenkoetter.
ANNE MLOD will leave the Weedsport Library in September and will start a new part-time job at the Seymour Library in Auburn assisting with the transition to Dynix and working on publicity.
CHERYL AUSTIN will become the new Director for Weedsport.
VICKIE WHEELER will become the Assistant Director for Weedsport.
This is a wonderful opportunity for each of them. The best part is that they will all remain in the Finger Lakes family!
Thanks to the generosity of Grolier Inc., Finger Lakes Library System has one copy of HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE to loan to member libraries! At the recent ALA Conference in Chicago, I attended a breakfast sponsored by Grolier. They gave each person who attended a free copy of this incredibly popular book.
PAT MOORE, Library Director, Interlaken Library
We have been able to glean a lot of ideas from a magazine entitled "The Mailbox Bookbag". This magazine is full of teacher tested units and suggestions for using the magic of children's literature. Though the magazine is written for teachers, we refer to it frequently when planning our programs. It is also helpful when selecting books to add to our collection. They have a web site at www.theeducationcenter.com. where you can get more information if you are interested.
ARLENE BLY, Administrative Assistant
My apologies for the delay in receiving TIPS- we have had a slew of copier problems that hopefully are over with. I am in the process of copying the issues we have, and will get them to you as soon as possible. Thank you.
