MEMBER LIBRARY WEEKLY BULLETIN

No. 00-27 July 7, 2000

KAREN CREENAN, Executive Director

Good News! In addition to a full time Youth Services Consultant, the Finger Lakes Library System will hire a full time Adult Services Consultant and an Information Services Specialist. The Adult Services Consultant will be available to advise you concerning a wide variety of library management issues. The Information Services Specialist/Trainer will provide much needed assistance with Dynix, Internet, and PC applications. Both Positions will be advertised in local newspapers and, where appropriate, on NYLINE, the ALA job posting site and LJ HOTLINE.

We hope to have all positions filled by the end of summer. So don’t miss the first System Meeting in September. There will be some new faces mixed in with the old.

I appreciate the extra effort and responsibilities taken on by current staff members to fill the gap left by the departure of Liz Stephenson and Judy Swann. They have done a wonderful job. Soon they will have new colleagues to help deliver super service to member libraries.

FRANK BOCEK, Business Manager

BEWARE … The System has been notified by a member library of persons attempting to sell bogus advertising to their library. The library was offered discounts for payments in cash.
