As a member of CayugaConnect and the Finger Lakes Library System, patrons of the Aurora Free Library may obtain books, videos, audios, and periodicals through interlibrary loan. Interlibrary loan provides access to material that may not be available in the Aurora Free Library. Items obtained through interlibrary loan have the same circulation period as material owned by the Aurora Free Library.
The library provides reference help to all patrons. Staff and volunteers are available to answer patron questions or direct patrons to the material they seek.
The library provides photocopy service at 15 cents per page. Ledger and legal sizes are available at the same cost.
The library provides fax send/receive service at $3.00 for the first page and $1.00 for each additional page.
The library has three computers that offer free internet service. Access to the internet is quickly connected through the library's "roadrunner" service.
Since June 2006, the Aurora Free Library also offers wireless access to the Internet.
The primary purpose of internet service at the Aurora Free Library is to provide patrons access to online information resources for research and study. The Internet policy is available in the box to the right and also in writing at the library. Patrons must read and sign the policy before computer/internet access is granted. Patrons under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign their policy compliance form. The policy is subject to change at any time.
| Patrons are allowed one-half hour per day and up to1 hours if no one is waiting. |
In 2001, the library received the generous gift of two Gateway computers from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. We also have one new Dell computer. These computers are loaded with exceptional programs such as Microsoft Encarta Encyclopedia, children's software, and the Microsoft office programs.
The library has two printers available to its patrons. The HP LaserJet black and white printer was a gift from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The HP DeskJet printer offers full color copies. Patrons may print up to two black and white pages per day from one of the computers free of charge. A charge of 15 cents per page applies for each additional black and white copy. A charge of 25 cents per page applies for color copies.
The library received a HP ScanJet from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Scanning service is 25 cents per page.
A book drop is available in front of the library to return items after library hours. Please do not put videos in when the weather is extremely hot or cold.
