By popular demand, Klezmer Kings return to the MOH play list! This outstanding local group will play the rhythmic, rollicking tunes and the haunting minor-key ballads of Eastern Europe. You'll want to dance and sing along with the high-energy, traditional Klezmer group. Sponsored by Mandel Therapy Group of King Ferry and Moravia.
Donations welcome.
Sponsored by the Aurora Preschool
The Aurora Preschool proudly presents the Briar Rose Puppeteers performing the Fairy Tale of Snow White and Rose Red. Puppeteers include Aurora's own Dee Nance and Deb Carlisle. The show is geared toward the young child between 4 and 8 years of age, but will be enjoyed by all. Donations will benefit the Aurora Preschool.
For three years, the Briar Rose Puppeteers, under the direction of Karen Lonsky, have been performing classic Fairy Tales and Folk Tales from around the world with their silk marionettes. Silk marionettes have frequently been used in Waldorf schools as they are a delight to the senses; the colors and draping effects of the silk combined with gentle music and storytelling are a healing balm in today's fast paced world.
Suggested donation $5 per family
Our biggest evening event of the Spring takes place on May 17th from 6:30-8:30 at the Morgan Opera House. We call it Food for the Palate and the Mind and includes wine tastings offered by three local wineries, sample dishes of appetizers, main courses, and desserts made by 20 or so local 'celebrity' chefs. This year a few of our chefs are Vienna Farlow (local thespian and playwright), Nancy Tisch of Bet the Farm, and Cookie Wheeler, chef at Pumpkin Hill Restaurant. We also will have a fun raffle with prizes ranging from cookbooks, to golf passes, and wine baskets. Ticket prices are $15 for this event and are available at the Library. It will be a great evening and a unique way to support the Library.

Brien Engel Glass Harp Music is Music... Physics... History... Imagination!
Brien Engel brings the science of physics and sound to life through the magic of a unique musical instrument.
Brien is one of very few people reviving and promoting the enchanting art of glass music. His instrument is a glass harp, consisting of 50 glasses of different sizes, which he plays by carefully rubbing the rims with his moistened fingers.
Brien has made notable strides in bringing unusual and challenging styles of playing to this instrument, particularly as a jazz musician. He has been hailed by teachers and administrators for his rapport with young people and singular ability to weave his art into curriculum, leaving students amazed and inspired!
Free. Donations welcome.
The Aurora Free Library Preservation Committee is pleased to present its spring fundraiser, “Reserve Two for Murder.” This interactive theatre production will take place on Saturday, May 3 at 7:30 pm in the Morgan Opera House, Main Street, Aurora. Tickets are available at the door and cost $12 for general admission and $6 for seniors and students; box office opens at 6:45 pm. A dessert and coffee reception will follow the performance. All proceeds will benefit the Aurora Free Library’s “Raise the Roof” campaign.
“Reserve Two for Murder” opens with a play within a play set five hundred years in the future. As this play unfolds, the theater is suddenly plunged into darkness and an actor is shot and killed by someone in the audience. Weird, chilling developments begin to take place, including a second murder, a vanishing corpse that reappears in the auditorium’s rear, and the disclosure that operatives of a spy ring are present.
The mystery is finally unraveled by two detectives who have come to see the performance: Sergeant Kennedy and his proverb-spouting assistant, Sam Lee. Much of the action takes place in the auditorium with occasional help from the audience.
Under the guidance of Wells College Assistant Professor of Theatre Siouxsie Grady, “Reserve Two for Murder” is cast with seven Wells students and professor emeritus Alan Clugston. The play is being directed by Rachel Snyder ’11 and Jillian Kline ’09. The players are donating their time and acting expertise for this cause.
Other supporting sponsors of the fundraiser are three of Aurora’s restaurants – the Aurora Inn, Pumpkin Hill Bistro, and the Fargo Bar & Grill. Patrons are encouraged to make it a true night on the town by enjoying dinner at one of these fine establishments before the performance. Call 315-364-5178 or 364-9520 for more information.

Kathy Ziegler may be familiar to most listeners as the keyboard player for the popular Ithaca band, Donna the Buffalo. As a solo performer- with friends- she is something else: a pop singer who improvises. Fun to listen to; fun to be around; with glimmers of more profound adventure always in the shadows.
Adults $8, Students/Seniors $6, Children $4
