The Aurora Free Library is located at 370 Main Street (Route 90) in Aurora. It is in a two-story Tudor Revival building on the southeast corner of Main Street and Cherry Avenue, across from the United States Post Office. The Morgan Opera House, cite of several Family Art Series and community events, is located on the second level.

Aurora is located about halfway down the eastern shore of Lake Cayuga in the Fingerlakes region of central New York State, with Union Springs to the north and King Ferry to the south. Aurora is noted right alongside the label for Cayuga Lake on this Map of the Fingerlakes Region.
