New York State Talking Book & Braille Library

 

The New York State Talking Book and Braille Library (TBBL) is the Regional Library serving the 55 upstate counties of New York in the nationwide program coordinated by the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, a division of the Library of Congress.  The library is also a unit of the New York State Library.  TBBL provides braille and recorded books, magazines, and other library services, to those who cannot read because of a physical disability.

Mail-It Library Service 

Offering large-print books, books on CD, and Playaways by mail to individuals unable to come in to the library.

Available items include: Large-print books, books on CD, and Playaways. (A Playaway is a palm-sized digital audio player pre-loaded with an audiobook.) Loan periods are 3 weeks. Renewals are possible.

Eligibility -- Anyone who has difficulty getting to the library due to disability or special circumstance is eligible.
